2021 Domaine Sylvain Pataille, Marsannay L'Ancestrale, Cote de Nuits, France Plaisance Penavayre A fantastically light ZinfandelLAncestrale is drawn from 6080 year old Pinot Noir on Marsannays hillsides, cropped at very low yields of about 20 hl ha. Fermentation is natural with roughly 50% whole clusters and gentle pump overs, followed by about 24 months of levage: a higher share of new barrels in the first year, then once used wood to knit the texture while letting the fruit speak.
