Willow Springs Distilling Company, situated in south Omaha, Nebraska, was part of a national conglomerate and became Nebraska's first distillery. It grew to become the nation's third largest distillery before the Great Depression. Founded in 1866 by J. C. McCoy, it was seized by the federal government in 1869 due to unpaid taxes and sold to James
